Christopher Bell paved a superb path to victory at the COTA race, only to get cut short by William Byron’s persistent speed. Bell put in tremendous effort to secure the second-place finish, including a rough track attitude. His antics spun out the two famous Kyles of Cup. And one of them made sure to share a piece of his mind with Bell.
Christopher Bell played it safe while responding to this heated reaction. The 29-year-old JGR driver knew better than to answer back to his former Craftsman Truck Series team owner.

Kyle Busch is really struggling to snap his 26-race winless streak this season. The driver is on the edge, looking for the next opening to seize his next victory. So when Christopher Bell threw a wrench in his plans to snag a top-five position at COTA, he was far from happy. The 63-time Cup winner swore revenge at the younger driver post-race.
Christopher Bell gently bumped into Busch and spun him on lap 40, thus earning his ire. However, another Kyle also fell prey to Bell’s efforts for the position. Kyle Larson was also left spinning on lap 21, losing his goal of securing a top-five spot, similar to Busch.
After the race ended and also after Busch confronted Bell, Fox approached the runner-up for his statement. A gleeful smile stretched across his lips as he said, “Kyle was heated. That was a heated K.B. for sure. Driving for him those years, I’ve seen it before. But I think that may be the first time that he’s ever been heated directly at me. Obviously, I didn’t have any intention to spin him out. So I’ll be reaching out to him and hopefully, he’ll talk to me later this week.”

Christopher Bell further tried to cement his innocent stance. “I didn’t see it coming at all. You know, they entered there too wide and he opened his entry up and he was so far right. And then he tried to cross over and I was there. Yeah, I didn’t mean to turn anybody, and I both of the Kyles today.”
While Bell was a bit unsure about his deal with Kyle Busch, he owned up to spinning Kyle Larson. “The Larson deal, that was totally on me and I had no intentions of spinning Kyle out,” he said. The Hendrick driver has not reacted in a wild way as Busch did.
Yet, amidst all the drama, Christopher Bell’s pace was extraordinary at COTA, as the race winner admitted.

Christopher Bell was aided by a fantastic pit team in his COTA efforts. The strategy of pitting late in the final stage so that Bell would have the freshest tires for the sprint to the finish worked out. After bypassing several drivers, Bell still had 2.4 seconds worth of gap between himself and Byron with two laps remaining. But he was slowly catching up.
William Byron admitted to feeling jittery about Bell’s speed. “I mean, it was just trying to not make mistakes. I felt like I made a lot of micro-errors in the last 10 laps. I have to calm down a little bit, look back at those 10 laps, and think about what could I do better in the car to stay mentally locked in and not get flustered by the mirror, seeing him closing in a braking zone.” He added, “He definitely had fresher tires. I’m sure that helped a little bit.”
