It looks like Corey Heim’s impressive stints in the Truck Series have paid up for him big time. Carrying on his growth trajectory for the upcoming season, Heim announced that he will be serving as the reserve driver for the NASCAR Cup Series team Legacy Motor Club and 23XI Racing. Adding to his duties as a reserve driver, he will take up the role of simulator driver at LMC.

The Georgia native has still not made his Cup debut but this recent move surely paves the way for such future opportunities. The 21-year-old missed out on a championship finish last year in the Truck Series. He also battled an illness that saw him miss the race at Gateway Motorsports Park. With a part-time Xfinity schedule lined up along with his Truck commitments with Tricon Garage, this announcement means that Corey Heim will have a busy and exciting 2024 NASCAR season.

The 2024 NASCAR season could well turn out to be a breakthrough season for young race car driver Corey Heim. Tricon Garage’s No.11 will now be serving the role of a reserve driver for NASCAR Cup Series teams, LMC and 23XI. While a Cup Series debut is not guaranteed for Heim, he will be able to grasp and learn from the very best team owners in the sport like Michael Jordan and Jimmie Johnson.

Announcing this move, Heim took to X and posted, “I’m grateful to announce that I’ve been signed by @LEGACYMotorClub as their simulator & reserve driver for this season and will also be the reserve driver for @23XIRacing. Can’t wait to learn from and work with all the great minds at both of these teams! #TeamToyota.”

Legacy Motor Club and 23XI are among the three teams in the Cup Series who run Toyota Camrys. While JGR and 23XI were the ones who initiated this change, LMC made the switch recently and 2024 will be their first season with the Toyota car. Heim who himself is a part of a Toyota team in the Truck Series will now be able to get the experience of stock-car racing, albeit from the outside.
