Connor Zilisch, a 17-year-old motorsports driver has become the talk of the NASCAR community, following his truck series debut in the XPEL 225. Currently, Zilisch is signed as a development driver with Trackhouse Racing. Under the agreement, he is yet to compete across various racing segments this season.
Before COTA, Zilisch has clinched some notable achievements early this season. He won the Rolex 24 at the Daytona and also won the 12 hours of the Sebring Race.
Zilisch will compete in 2 more Truck Series races this season under the banner of Spire Motorsports. However, that isn’t all; he is also scheduled to race in 4 Xfinity series races driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports. Zilisch will start his Xfinity adventure at Watkins Glen International in September.

Dale Jr foresees Connor Zilisch as a multi-time NASCAR Cup champion
Zilisch showcased his speed skills by grabbing the pole position for the XPEL 225 race. However, a flat left front tire hindered his lead. And yet, racing his heart out, Zilisch managed to provide a P4 finish in the end. And Dale Jr didn’t hesitate in applauding the young driver’s efforts, “Conor Zillich is like that Comet that is out in at the edge of the solar system, that’s supposed to come by Earth right in a few years. We know when it’s coming and we’re all going to be standing outside looking at the sky waiting on it”.
Mentioning Zilisch’s participation in multiple racing segments, Earnhardt Jr. stated, “You know he’s going to be driving for Junior Motorsports. He’s driving everything, the kid drives TransAm trucks, Bush cars I say Bush. Still but uh you know you get it. He drives a lot of stuff he’s going to run the cars tour, he’s driving super late models and all kinds of things and ARCA.”
“So he’s doing it all and what is 17 still? So it’s insane, this kid, this kid has the runway to become a multi-time NASCAR Cup champion,” said Earnhardt Jr. foreseeing a promising future for the driver.
Explaining it further, Dale went on, “The runway is right there in front of him, not many people are getting all of these types, all these experiences at this age. Right? If everything goes well and he keeps his head on straight massive success and potential ahead.”

As per the recent updates, Zilisch will be in control behind the wheels of the esteemed No. 88 Chevrolet for four Xfinity Series races this season. His Xfinity adventure begins with the Mission 200 race at The Watkins Glen International scheduled on September 14th. Following that Zilisch will also race in other Xfinity Races at Kansas Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway.
Zilisch will also pilot the No. 7 Chevy Silverado again this season at Talladega Superspeedway for the Love’s RV Stop 250, Truck Series Race. Additionally, Spire Motorsports is arranging a separate entry for Zilisch at the October 26th Truck Series playoff race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
