The heartbreak looms large for SHR fans in the Cup Series, as two familiar pilots, retiring champion Kevin Harvick and seasoned driver Aric Almirola, bid farewell to the team, leaving the No. 10 and No. 4 cockpits open for new faces.
While this might be a significant change for the team, Tony Stewart and his crew have a fresh breath of relief in the Xfinity ranks, as their sole Championship hope Cole Custer will be returning for the next season.
Tony Stewart made sure that Custer’s talent did not enter the free agency market, as the ink dried on a contract extension, securing Custer’s return to the No. 00 Ford cockpit for the upcoming 2024 season. The news was dropped on the team’s Twitter handle with the caption, “#St0neC0le is back for more. @ColeCuster returns to the No. 00 for 2024.”
