It was in 2017 that after a five-year relationship, NASCAR’s true power couple Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Danica Patrick called it quits. And just like most exes, neither has been able to come face-to-face with the other since.
This was all the more clear after a very recent story that legendary broadcaster Mike Joy revealed.
As we all know, Danica Patrick landed a brief commentary gig alongside Mike Joy and former driver Clint Bowyer in the FOX booth. While her commentary wasn’t something that people enjoyed, it was this story from her brief time in the box that people had a really good time listening to, as their laughs makes clear.

And to be fair, it is quite a hilarious story.
Joy recalled Danica Patrick telling him, “Whatever we do here, don’t make me talk to Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.).”
“And of course, Clint (Bowyer) goes, ‘HELL YEAH!’,” he added.
“So we get to the end of I think, second stage, and Clint says to the producer, ‘Hey I think Ricky finished 18th. You think we oughta talk to him?'”

This obviously came as a surprise for many fans of the couple and of the sport. After all, they’d been together for five years, and the sudden breakup really shocked everyone.
However, it was later revealed that the reason for the breakup had something to do with Patrick and her plans for the future. According to The Blast, she wanted to get married and have children, something Ricky Stenhouse Jr didn’t necessarily want at that time.
Soon after her split with the NASCAR driver, Danica Patrick began dating NFL star Aaron Rodgers, a relationship that lasted for two years.
