Matt Kaulig is hosting a 4-day PGA Champions Tour event at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. The event will be an attraction for some of the iconic names in the golfing and entertainment world. One of the major personalities to be seen at the event will be the former pro golfer Paige Spiranac.

Chris Rice, the president of Kaulig Racing, took to Twitter yesterday to give a heads-up for the event. He spoke about his game with John Daly alongside his #16 Chevrolet driver AJ Allmendinger. He also, very subtly, hinted at the golfing abilities of Allmendinger.

NASCAR uploaded a YouTube short to share a quick moment between Paige, AJ, and Rice. In the video, the NASCAR reporter asked whether AJ is taking lessons from the pro golfer. Here’s how the conversation went down.

The reporter asked, “AJ, are you getting tips from the pro already? Are you [Paige] helping him out?”

“I am trying to, I am trying to, but he doesn’t listen,” said Paige.

The reporter then asked AJ, “Matt said you are the best golfer in his stable, is that true?

“I swing a lot,” AJ replied.

Chris Rice stepped into the conversation and said, “He’s a terrible golfer.”

Chris gave away his driver’s golfing abilities in his earlier tweet as well, where he said, “I am playing with John Daly today, AJ and myself, so wish me luck with AJ.

He also said that he wanted to continue the history that the Firestone Country Club has had with the tournaments. He also opened up about his intentions of raising money for various charities, including the NASCAR Foundation.

During his conversation with NASCAR.com, Kaulig said, At Kaulig Companies, we continuously look for ways to better our community, and it is an honor to partner with PGA Tour Champions to sponsor one of their flagship events.

“Being able to support the city of Akron, along with the tournament’s impressive track record of giving back to local charities, many of the same that we give back to through Kaulig Giving, made it an easy decision for our team to sign on as the title sponsor,” he continued. Whether Rice has some weight to his claims on Allmendinger’s golf skills, we will soon find out.
