Chris Buescher is no stranger to the Pocono Raceway, having earned a surprise victory at the ‘Tricky Triangle’ back in 2016. A win that came during Buescher’s rookie season, when he was still establishing himself as a consistent threat in the NASCAR Cup Series is now about to take a leap of faith as there are some temporary changes underway in the RFK Racing team.
As he prepares to take on the Raceway once again, he finds himself in a unique situation without his usual spotter- Mike Hermann who is out sick for this weekend! But fear not, as they are now in the trusty hands of Brad Keselowski’s brother – Brian! It may not be a completely unfamiliar voice guiding him on the tracks, but perhaps an accidental text message could derail things before they start!
Buescher and the Keselowski brothers navigate the unique spotter situation, NASCAR fans should look out to see if their collaboration leads to victory lane success – or some good-natured sibling shenanigans on the pit box. As the No. 17 Ford driver is well aware of the potential for mix-ups, joking “I guarantee you that Brian is gonna get text messages meant for Brad at some point. They’re right next to each other on the contacts list so that’ll happen.” He says, adding that the team will have to “keep our conversations compartmentalized” to avoid any accidental cross-communication.

Despite the potential for brotherly blunders at the track, Chris Buescher is confident in Brian Keselowski’s abilities, noting that he has done a really good job so far and is the best person for this job. While finding a solution to Hermann’s absence, he mentions that the whole team have been involved and was excited to see how this unique spotter swap situation turns out. Could this be his chance to take the checkered flag once again?

If he can pull it off, it would be a huge boost to his playoff aspirations and cement RFK Racing’s status as a rising force in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Buescher’s season so far has been promising
With the playoffs getting close, the Cup Series has officially reached its mid-point and everyone is going to be scrambling to try and get all the points they need to make it to the cutoff list. Chris Buescher and the No. 17 RFK Racing team have shown flashes of potential, but have also had some inconsistency in their results for various reasons.

His season got off to a great start, with two top-10 finishes at Daytona and Auto Club Speedway, but then took a dip when a string of tough luck and mechanical issues began to plague the next couple of weekends for the RFK driver. While he currently ranks 13th in the Cup Series, he still has to keep up the momentum to ensure that he makes it to the end.
So keep your fingers crossed, NASCAR fans! Let’s see if Chris can channel that same energy from 2016 this time! If he can do that, the 26-year-old could be poised for a breakout second half and a return to the playoffs.
