The Shriners Children’s 500 race held last weekend witnessed a strong performance from team RFK Racing. Chris Buescher along with co-owner Brad Keselowski showcased a hard-fought top 5 finish at the track. Chris came in second, battling from the 14th-place start, whereas Keselowski finished 4th driving from pole position 18th. Two sizzling top-five finishes on a hot day in Phoenix granted the team enough momentum for the next Food City 500 race in Bristol.

In the last three races at the half-mile track, Keselowski holds the fourth position with an average finish of 9.0 and Buescher follows closely behind in fifth place with an average finish of 9.3.

Ecstatic Chris Buescher embraces Concrete Racing at Bristol

Amidst a detailed conversation with NASCAR Fox Reporter Bob Pockrass, Chris Buescher couldn’t contain his excitement. “Um, I don’t think there’s anybody in the garage ever happier than I am right now, So, Uh, I was ecstatic here” he expressed eagerly. Buescher’s enthusiasm stemmed from the news of the upcoming race at Bristol Motor Speedway, particularly on concrete rather than dirt. Reflecting on his passion for dirt racing, he clarified, “It’s not that I just like dirt racing you know I’ve had a ball and dirt cars at real dirt tracks, In the, you know, maybe dozen times I’ve done it through the years. Absolutely, loved it.” 

However, Buescher’s true affinity lies with Bristol’s concrete, labeling it his favorite race. “We are always very fast there. And been able to get one win there and had a really solid run there last time. So for me, it’s just more opportunities for our team and I love that.,” he emphasized.

Despite past challenges, including a major incident, Buescher’s adoration for Bristol remains steadfast. “Bristol has always been my favorite. First time I got to run there. Absolutely, loved it. Um, you know, we’ve had some really good run through the years.” He further added, “Some of my sports stats come from the first time I ever used a backup car in my career was Bristol. So there’s just that.”

“It’s still a place that I’ve absolutely loved, there’s a history of the feeling walking into Bristol, it still gets you every time,” he affirmed, highlighting the iconic track.

In the upcoming Food City 500 race we are going to witness an intense battle for dominance. Team RFK racing players have to withstand severe competition from fellow contenders.

Keselowski and his teammate Chris Buescher will face a tough fight from team HMS’ top performers. Kyle Larson and William Byron hold the record for the best and 2nd best average finish, based on the last three races at the course. Larson stands strong with one victory and two top-5 finishes, while Byron has two top-5 finishes and one top-10 finish.

Next in competition comes Denny Hamlin, the reigning champion at the track. Denny has raced in a total of 34 races at the Bristol Motor Speedway. He presently holds the record for the 3rd best average finish of 6.3. The No. 11, Joe Gibbs Racing driver has 3 triumphs and 7 top-5 finishes at Bristol.

But, the show doesn’t end there. Kyle Busch is also in the scene. Although Rowdy’s performance wasn’t as pleasing in the last few dirt-track races at Bristol. He has, however, showcased a commendable performance in the pre-dirt era on the tracks. Out of his total 35 races at the Colosseum, Busch owns 8 wins, 7 top-5 finishes, and 5 top-10 finishes.

Thus, team RFK racing will have to face an intense battle fighting for the top-five glory.

Fans will anxiously anticipate the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, where Team RFK Racing will face off against formidable competitors. With Chris Buescher’s excitement for racing on concrete and Brad Keselowski’s consistent performance, fans are hopeful for another thrilling display of speed and skill at the Thunder Valley.
