While Chase Elliott couldn’t celebrate his second NASCAR Cup Series title as his teammate Kyle Larson beat him to the punch, the Georgia native hasn’t had a shortage of reasons that call for celebration. And some of them have been outside stock car racing; in other sports, of titles won by teams Elliott passionately supports.
And the most recent celebration for the Hendrick driver came from Georgia Football in the NCAA.
The Bulldogs defeated Alabama Crimson Tide with a score of 33-18 to win the National Championship. Although this was a team effort, the two major highlights were Stetson Bennett’s crucial passes for a late touchdown and Keele Ringo’s pick-six that sealed the game.

This was their first national championship title since 1980. And one of their biggest supporters, the 2020 NASCAR champion, gave his fans a glimpse of his delight.
The NASCAR driver posted on his Twitter, “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!! LET’S GOOO #GoDawgs @GeorgiaFootball.”

The support between Chase Elliott and Georgia Football is mutual
Before their title showdown with Alabama, Georgia Football had posted a photograph on #WallpaperWednesday of the final on their social media. And in that wallpaper, NASCAR fans recognized an all-too-familiar sight.
It was the No.9 Chevy Camaro of Chase Elliott.

Admittedly, this got some minor criticism from some of the fans as they pointed out how an IndyCar would’ve been much suitable considering where the game was being held. However, there’s nothing wrong with that either since NASCAR also races at Indianapolis.
But credit to Georgia Football, because they made a point to feature an IndyCar in a few of their subsequent posts.

The Dawsonville resident is set to take part in the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals for the second year in a row. To be fair, Elliott will hope to do much, much better this time around.
He will race for his NASCAR teammate and defending NASCAR and Chili Bowl champion, Kyle Larson’s team.
So there won’t be a better way for Chase Elliott to begin his New Year with a new title, that will surely springboard him into a title-favorite candidacy for NASCAR next season.
But who are we kidding?
