NASCAR is a sport that rarely sees a driver win multiple races back to back on a regular basis. After Chris Buescher won the race at Bristol, he seemed to have set himself a record only second highest to that of Chase Elliott’s father. However, this wasn’t a record Buescher wouldn’t be particularly happy about, since the record was about the number of back-to-back races they remained winless.

Prominent NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass stated, From my friends at Racing Insights: 222 races between wins for Chris Buescher is the second most all-time behind only Bill Elliott’s 226 starts between wins from 1994-2001.

While scoring a win is certainly a great achievement for Buescher, doing so after 222 races might feel even grander than anything else. However, that wasn’t the highest record of bad luck suffered by a driver in the sport. That record number is held by Chase Elliott’s father, Bill Elliott, who went on a winless streak of an astounding 226 races, over a period of 8 years (1994-2001).

NASCAR fans react to Chris Buescher’s record

Buescher managed to claim the second-highest record of a winless streak after the legendary Bill Elliott. Fans stated how Dale Earnhardt Sr dominated during the period of Elliott’s winless era.

One fan stated they felt that Justin Haley would be able to break Elliott’s streak of 226 winless races, considering how his career was spanning at the current moment.
