It is well known that Chase Elliott of Hendrick Motorsports is sponsored by Hooters and that he also drives the orange and white Hooters cars at certain races. Hence, when NASCAR decided to conduct a poll on Twitter in order to decide the “Most Popular Driver” of the season, fans soon noticed that something seemed to be fishy and caught NASCAR in a possible lie.

NASCAR’s official Twitter handle posted a vote link with the caption, The polls are now open! Cast your vote for this year’s Most Popular Driver presented by@Hooters.”

The moment fans read the poll was being sponsored by Hooters, they already knew Chase Elliott would be a favorite.

Fans slam NASCAR for rigging the poll

Fans could easily spot the little logo of the sponsor and connected the dots. They soon slammed NASCAR for intentionally rigging the outcome of the poll.

There is no way that Hooters would sponsor a poll, only to have some other driver take the win. That is exactly what the fans thought as well and had their say on Twitter.

Following all the rage amongst fans, Hooters themselves decided to post their own thoughts regarding the poll for the year’s Most Popular Driver.

Fans surely believe that one driver will win this poll hands down and think that participation in the same would be a waste of time. But it surely would be surprising if they announce a non-Hooters sponsored driver as the winner.
