Every year since 1968, NASCAR drivers have participated in the Snowball Derby in Florida. As it turns out, this race is regarded as one of the most prestigious short track races.

Over the years, there have been several high-profile drivers participating in the race, and the same will happen once again in December. Fresh from his maiden Cup Series title, Chase Elliott announced that he will race in Pensacola next month.

Since then, the 24-year-old has been preparing himself for the race. To be precise, he took part in a practice session at the Five Flags Speedway, which hosts the Snowball Derby.

Admittedly, Chase Elliott has been racing at the derby since he was 14. In addition to that, he won his first race at the age of 16, making him the youngest ever winner. Nearly a decade later, Elliott is set to race there as a NASCAR champion for the first time.

Elliott did not have an easy path to the title, as he squeaked into the Final 4 with a win at Martinsville. At the Season Finale in Phoenix, Lady Luck decided to give him a challenge by forcing him to the back of the pack. Nonetheless, he managed to storm up the grid and win the race and the championship.
