Chase Elliott is currently contracted with Hendrick Motorsports. However, his contract runs out at the end of the 2022 season. As a result, while he is gearing up for the new campaign, he also has to worry about a new contract. Ahead of this weekend’s Daytona 500, Elliott spoke about his contract situation and provided an update.
Chase Elliott on contract talks w/Hendrick (his deal up after 2022): “Rick and I have been in talks. I feel good about where we’re at. Right now, I’m looking forward to this season and what we have going on. I don’t want any of that to overshadow the importance of this weekend.”

This year, Elliott and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates will be aiming for victory once again. At the Clash at the Coliseum two weeks ago, he could only finish 11th, so he is seeking redemption. Coming to Daytona though, he has a decent record, with two poles in the Daytona 500. Sadly, he hasn’t been able to convert them to a win, but there is no time like the present.
However, the 2020 Cup Series champion knows that his teammate Kyle Larson will be strong. At the same time, they must not forget Alex Bowman and William Byron. An even bigger threat is the Joe Gibbs Racing quartet of Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr, and Christopher Bell.

There are also other teams like Team Penske and Stewart-Haas Racing that could spoil the party. Last year’s race also proved that Daytona 500 winners can come from just about anywhere. Just ask Michael McDowell and even Austin Dillon. Considering that the teams are still figuring out the Next Gen cars, all bets are off this weekend.
