Hamlin further criticized NASCAR’s promotion tactics, saying, “The algorithm, NASCAR, I don’t know what they spend on Chase’s comeback as far as advertising, man they were ready, ready for that comeback, and um, you know, we just go, ‘hey, anytime they’re promoting drivers, we’re all in for it, right?’”

Hamlin’s comments highlight the fact that NASCAR may be putting too much focus on promoting certain drivers, to the detriment of other drivers and the sport as a whole. It’s important for NASCAR to remember that fans tune in to watch exciting racing, not just to see their favorite driver.
