The 2023 Cup Series Calendar is finally out. And the long-awaited Chicago Street race is confirmed. However the next season will now have more race weekends than before, and Chase Elliott has a 7-word response that might baffle you.

The 2023 Season of the NASCAR Cup Series will feature 38 race weekends, compared to 2022’s 36. On top of that, it seems like there are fewer night races than before. Now, what you feel about that move is on you, and we would love to know what you feel about that move in the comments. But the Regular Season Champion quoted NASCAR’s tweet, as he gave his two cents on the matter.
Less = More.
I like night races too. https://t.co/cDT4wEECW4
— Chase Elliott (@chaseelliott) September 14, 2022
The tweet seems to have a sarcastic tone, as he says less = more. Moreover, he also said he likes night races “too”, possibly in response to fans who asked for more night races. But we can’t know for sure till we hear from Elliott himself. It sure is a pretty confusing Tweet, and that’s exactly how the fans feel, too.
Anyone know what he means by Less = More?

Some fans understood what he meant, as they drew their own conclusions.
Damn Not Many Night Races What The Hell. If A Track Has Lights Run It At Night. That’s Just A Wast Of Money To Put Lights At A Race Track and Not Use Them.
— Bolton Biggs (@BoltonBiggs88) September 14, 2022
Less races creating more demand seems to work fantastically for F1. I’m sure you all really enjoy all these 3PM races while car temps are 130+.
Night races should be the Coke 600-Southern 500 if for no other reason than driver/fan comfort and travel. Plus running Sunday rainouts

But the most impressive Tweet came from none other than the Atlanta Motor Speedway itself!
We like night races too 😏
— Atlanta Motor Speedway (@amsupdates) September 14, 2022
Preach! we need more night races
— Jason_4️⃣8️⃣_9️⃣_ (@CorvettRacing48) September 14, 2022
Plenty of fans even agree with the Cup Series Champion.
I’ll say it straight up, Saturday Night races in the summer are way more enjoyable than Sunday afternoon
— C Taylor (@CTaylor72301686) September 15, 2022
I must admit 38 races does keep you guys on and off the road away from your families for an extended period of time but I’m grateful that each and every weekend you and the other drivers persevere to make it to the tracks to provide wonderful races for the fans🥹
— Jacqueline Gibbs (@Jacquel29896365) September 14, 2022
But, believe it or not, there is a lot to look forward to in the 2023 season already.
The 2023 season holds a lot of excitement beyond Chase Elliott’s criticism
Sure, Elliott had some things to say, and we surely can’t deny them. In fact, we can understand his concerns as fans and as a driver. But there are things that even he will look forward to.
Of course! The Chicago Street race is officially on the calendar. Of course, the king of road courses has got to be happy about that! What do you feel about road courses?
