Justin Marks stated, “This new car is the most radical change in the history of @NASCAR – perfecting its performance and safety is going to be a process. We cannot assume perfection right out of the gates. This comes from an owner whose parts expense is an order of magnitude more than budgeted.“
Elliott then added, “With the experience and knowledge gained since 1948 and the technology we have in 2022… we should never take steps backwards in any area with a new design.”
Marks continued, “I don’t necessarily disagree, I think a perfected product right out of the gates is still a bit of a tall order. I think the true test is going to be what we do now.”

I mean Jr came out this week and basically said the design was questioned from day one. NASCAR isn't IMSA, they're learning the hard way

Agree. Except in regards to safety. That should never go backwards

NASCAR is in a box, the car has to be durable enough to bang around, yet crumple to absorb impacts, while also not collapsing like a beer can. It's a tough balancing act.

I’m terrified that a driver will get hurt and the car will catch on fire. I can barely watch anymore. It gives me anxiety. The fires need to figured out immediately. Secondly, I think there needs to be more practice time . It could help suss out steering issues etc.
