2022 has been a year full of surprises. We have collectively witnessed some of the greatest moments across sports. Aside from the great moments, we have also come across a few teary-eyed moments too. Recently, Google dropped one of its yearly traditional videos, showcasing the highest searched moments of this year. NASCAR’s Chase Elliott made it through to the video, alongside some other legendary sportsmen and women.

In the video, we see Roger Federer tearing up after his final game before retirement, Serena Williams giving out the heart hand sign, and Chase Elliott celebrating a race win. At the end of the video, the message reads, “To everyone who sees not what the world is but what it can be.”

NASCAR has seen several amazing moments and some teary-eyed one’s throughout this season. We saw Chase Elliott nearly dominate the first half of the season. There was Ross Chastain who pulled off a stellar wall-riding move at Martinsville. We even saw Kurt Busch wave goodbye from full-time racing in the sport, due to an unfortunate incident.
How has Chase Elliott’s season been this year?

Elliott was so good during the regular season, that he racked up win after win. Eventually, he even won the regular season championship. However, even with the 15 additional playoff points, the later stages of the playoffs did not go quite as planned for him.
By the end of the 2022 season, Elliott had garnered a total of five wins, 4 poles, 12 top 5s, 20 top 10s, and led a total of 857 laps. All of this gave people the hope that he would light the playoffs on fire. However, as fate would have it, with each passing race his odds diminished further. He did make his way in the championship four-season finale at Phoenix Raceway. But a late-race incident with championship contender Ross Chastain saw his championship-winning hopes disappear.

Joey Logano on the other hand cruised comfortably to victory and took home his second championship title. Things were not so good for the Hendrick Motorsports camp though, Elliott was the only driver who made it into the championship four. They also could not capitalize on their gains from the regular season. But at the end of the day, it’s the law of racing. If not this year, there’s another year another championship to win. The kid from Dawsonville sure will have another shot at claiming his second title soon enough.
