Sitting out six races due to the snowboarding accident had Chase Elliott fans waiting for his comeback. So much so that when he finally came back at Martinsville, we saw a slight improvement in NASCAR’s TV Ratings. Everyone in the sport, along with team Hendrick Motorsports, was excited to see him back on the track after so long. Knowing how much fans missed him, SiriusXM Sports had a talk with the #9 driver, with which they gave the fans what they want. More of Chase Elliott! It was in this conversation where he disclosed something exciting about an HMS legend.

The two races Chase was a part of have served him well. At the Martinsville Speedway, he earned a spot in the top ten, which is a good start post his six weeks break. In Talladega Superspeedway, he managed to finish at the 12th spot, which, compared to the previous race, was not an improvement, but still was a decent result. Hopefully, in the next race, he might find a place in the top ten again or even the top five.

In a fun interview on SiriusXM Sports, NASCAR driver Chase Elliott talked about his favorite music and artists. He touched upon subjects like his favorite song that he listens to before a race, and why legendary musicians like Elton John and Eric Church mean so much to him.

Moreover, he named a music artist that might come as a surprise to all. It was none other than Jeff Gordon.

When he was asked, “When you say Hendrick Motorsports, what song comes to your mind?” Chase replied, “When you say Hendrick Motorsports Jeff Gordon has been DJing this uh like Championship race weekend send-off party. So he’s got dance music going on here, you know DJ in the event, so for some reason that comes to mind for me.”

“Don’t know an artist but oh yeah Chainsmokers, perfect yeah.”

Though it may come as a surprise to some people, Jeff Gordon is an avid music lover. He follows all kinds of music, from country to hip-hop and pop. Gordon also enjoys music by attending music festivals and live concerts.

Team HMS’s strategy had Chase Elliott’s sponsor very content

Recently, NAPA, Chase Elliott’s $2 billion worth sponsor, had some really good things to say about the HMS team’s strategy during his absence for six weeks. As per Sports Business Journal, Elliott’s primary sponsor, NAPA Auto Parts, said they were very satisfied with how Hendrick Motorsports handled the whole situation.

The substitute driver lineup arranged by HMS had Josh Berry and Jordan Taylor run the #9 car in the races. Berry had a good run in five out of the six races, while Taylor raced at the road course of COTA. Berry earned a second position in one of the races, which contributed immensely to both HMS and NAPA.

While Chase was missed by all, the officials at NAPA were impressed by the HMS team’s way they protected their brand. Adam Stern, referring to what Kevin Herron, President, and COO of NAPA said, posted it on his Twitter.

He wrote, “Obviously when you have a Chase Elliott who has won a championship once and is NASCAR’s most popular driver, you miss that (when he’s out). … But what they have done is make sure to protect our brand and push for us during the few weeks of his absence.”
