After the security took Noah Gragson away after his altercation with Ross Chastain, he mentioned what led him to do what he did. Of course, he had issues of his own with the Watermelon Man, but there was also a role of other names, such as Chase Elliott, in his decision-making. “I am sick and tired of it… The guy just runs into everyone. When you got guys like Chase Elliott and other guys telling you to go beat his a**,” Gragson said.
Elliott’s role in this confrontation, apart from Gragson’s comments, was something that was more or less proved by Elliott himself right at the scene. “Somebody’s gotta do it,” the Hendrick Motorsports driver was heard saying right as Gragson was being taken away from Chastain.
However, NASCAR’s most popular driver got some backlash from the fans for this particular comment.

“He’s right, someone did have to get punched in the face by Ross,” one fan wrote while another claimed, “Chase essentially saying I aint got the ba**s to do it.”
One fan’s reaction read as, “I hope Chase gets into a fight with someone, would be very interesting,” while another wrote, “He’s the golden boy it wouldn’t be him!!!!”

Elliott’s teammate thinks Ross Chastain could take his undisputed crown
For half a decade in a row now, Chase Elliott has been named the sport’s most popular driver. But if his teammate Kyle Larson is to be believed, that crown could soon be taken away from him by none other than Ross Chastain.
“I think Ross [has] got the potential to be more popular than Chase Elliott,” Larson said in a recent episode of the High Limit Room podcast.
