Chase Elliott finds himself in the middle of another controversy. From the looks of it, Chase has not caught a break from mishaps on the track, as he got into an awkward moment with one of his teammates. The driver to entangle with Elliott is Kyle Larson, who has had a fair share of disagreements in the past with the 2020 Cup champion.

However, having had to endure a barren season, it seems Chase is tired of being involved in such feuds. Although the minor bump at Kansas reignited speculations about rising tension between them, he believes that it is nothing more than baseless gossip.

With the final pit stop of this season’s second playoff race at the ever-challenging Kansas Speedway in the background, there was a sense of haste among the drivers. Getting in new tires and changes and raring to go, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson set off on the pit road simultaneously. With the pit road incapable of accommodating three cars with breathing space between them, the #9, #5, and #46 cars found it tough to get out of it together.

Elliott was sandwiched between #46 and #5 and was seen hinting at some retaliation with his car. But speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, he cleared the air around the whole conundrum. The 27-year-old said, “Yeah, we obviously ran into each other at pit road, and I didn’t have the full picture of what went on, so I was frustrated.”

Elliott then went to target the people who have been spreading the rumors of things going possibly sour between the Hendrick Motorsports duo.

“That’s what happened for sure but at the end of the day, I’ll certainly take the blame for my frustration on that front. The good news is he and I can have a conversation like two adults and it’s a non-issue. Now the bad news is it’s a non-issue. For all y’all that want to talk about it there is nothing to talk about either. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I know you guys love your drama.” clarified Elliott, dismissing the claims.

Well, being a more crude version of motorsports, drama is an essential part of NASCAR. However, this time it won’t be the case if we are to believe Chase.

As the conversation moved forward, Chase Elliott also addressed the news of some bad blood between him and Larson coming to the fore with this incident. Chase reiterates his opinion on the incident as he indicates growth in their dynamic.

I don’t feel that way at all, continued Chase. According to him, what followed their small meeting on the pit road was a mature dialogue that proceeded like a conversation between two understanding people would.

“Our relationship’s actually been good. We had a lot of dialogue, and like I said, we talked about it after the race, and there’s nothing more to really even discuss. When you talk about things and get the full picture of what’s going on, you have a discussion like adults. There is really no need for anything else, and neither he nor I care about what is said during the week. So, at the end of the day, I think we’re both pretty performance-motivated and driven, and that’s where our focus is.”

Replying to the question being asked on what was the mid-race conversation between him and Larson all about, he said that it was just a normal chat that was aimed at an inquiry of what actually happened there.

Yeah, I just asked what happened and he told me what happened. I said okay, it was really that simple. In my mind it was done and over with after that. Everybody that likes to talk about that stuff, that was where the topic I guess got taken to a different level but I left it here, unfortunately, y’all didn’t.”

Larson has also been involved in controversial situations this year. The most notable argument of his would be with Denny Hamlin following them running into each other at Pocono. But as for Elliott, it looks like the tension between them might just be a rumor after all.
