The Taylor Swift and NASCAR crossover has resurfaced, with fans and drivers alike eagerly embracing this unexpected crossover. Just a day ago, it was Ross Chastain who was blasting Taylor Swift‘s hit song “Getaway Car,” proclaiming that he was in his “Talladega era.” But now, it’s NASCAR’s golden boy, Chase Elliott, who has been drawn into the whirlwind of the pop sensation’s growing popularity.

However, not everyone is thrilled with this revelation. Swifties might raise an eyebrow as Chase Elliott ponders whether he should jump on the T. Swift bandwagon.

The No. 9 team has endured a tumultuous 2023 season, one riddled with injuries and misfortunes that seemed as frequent as the turns of a road course. For a team that has seen seven consecutive playoff qualifications, this year marked a painful end to the streak. However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon as Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team gear up for a shot at the owners’ championship, having advanced to the playoff round of 12.

However, it’s been a year since NASCAR’s poster boy last graced victory lane. The Georgia native’s last triumph was back in 2022 at the Talladega Superspeedway. As NASCAR heads to Talladega for race number two of the playoff round of 12, Elliott is determined to break his winless streak and defend his victory.

While the outcome remains uncertain, Hendrick Motorsports has meanwhile captivated fans with engaging content as recently, HMS shared a video snippet where Chase Elliott answered some of the top Google searches about him. One question that caught everyone’s attention was, “Is Chase Elliott a Swiftie?” His response, though hesitant, was a firm “No,” a revelation that might have caused a few Swifties to second-guess their allegiance.

Chase explained, “You know, I’m not sure that I would consider myself a Swiftie, but, I feel like I should get on the bandwagon. I mean, it looks like a lot of fun. And who doesn’t like Taylor Swift? So, I’m on board; just, haven’t gotten out to the show yet.”

Former basketball legend and current NASCAR analyst Brad Daugherty recently shared his high expectations for the No. 9 driver on the NBC show. Daugherty emphasized the significance of being the face of a prestigious team like Hendrick Motorsports and highlighted the necessity for Elliott to secure victories in the final six races of the season.

Daugherty stated, “I mean, with the resources and his ability, to go without a win would just be… I mean, missing the playoffs is catastrophic! This would just be remarkable for that race team, with everything they have. Not to win one race would be absolutely a horrible season.”

Expressing optimism, he further added, “There are multiple opportunities. I’d be shocked if that #9 car doesn’t end up in victory lane in these next six races.”
