–In recent weeks, the NASCAR world has been riddled with controversies. Chase Elliott opens up about his “mature” conversation with Denny Hamlin
After a brief interval from the sport, NASCAR’s poster boy, Chase Elliott, has finally come back. While the unfortunate snowboarding accident has caused him to remain sidelined, Elliott’s grand return to the track has been much celebrated and widely sought after as the HMS speedster came back to the Cup Series schedule at Martinsville Speedway.
Despite being out for a while, that too with a severe leg injury, the returning driver did not hold back as he crossed the line 10th at Martinsville. Soon Elliott came out with on-par performances at Kansas while the driver finished the race at Darlington Raceway third.
As the driver finally found his rhythm, the eventful race at Charlotte Motor Speedway went south terribly as Elliott got in an ugly tussle when Hamlin bumped the #9 Chevy on his way into the corner, prompting Elliott to retaliate viciously. This caused a bloody wreck with Hamlin, driving him headfirst into the wall while Elliott also was deemed out of contention.
And following the aftermath of the wreck, a furious Hamlin called out the ‘bullsh*t move’ as he laid out Elliott’s ill intentions with solid data to prove his point. Soon NASCAR handed a one-race suspension to Elliott for his unnecessary action. Ahead of his Sonoma run, the HMS speedster opened up about the “private” conversation he had with his latest rival.
Hamlin had previously confirmed speaking on call with Elliott. When asked about the conversation, Elliott said, “I feel like the conversation is private personally I mean I dont feel the need to announce certain things to the world you know everybody kind of has their opinion on that but we had a really mature and a good conversation, I thought about it and I’ll just I’ll leave it at that you know, it was just a private matter that I dont really think needs to be here.”
Elliott restrained himself from disclosing the private conversation. However, the 27-year-old revealed his thoughts about NASCAR’s ruling as he opened up about the beef with Hamlin.
