Chase Briscoe has been competing in the NASCAR scene for five years, including four in the Cup Series. However, in a recent Ask Me Anything on Reddit, many fans got the impression that he was a little sheltered. The #19 driver will be making his debut for Joe Gibbs Racing this season, after the downsizing of Stewart-Haas Racing. Additionally, he will be replacing the retiring Martin Truex Jr.
Ahead of his JGR stint, he answered several fan questions on social media. Needless to say, people could not fathom that Briscoe had never eaten a hotdog in his life. This was in response to a fan asking him about his ideal hotdog toppings. The fans were mad because the city of Martinsville is famous for its hotdogs. In all his years of visiting the Martinsville Speedway, Chase Briscoe has never once sampled the city’s hot dogs. Fans found this so inconceivable that they vowed to get the 30-year-old his first hot dog.
As evidenced by his Reddit AMA, he has been working hard in the off-season. He also mentioned that he really admires Coach Joe Gibbs, so the pressure to impress him is even higher. Speaking of the off-season though, Chase Briscoe mentioned that, aside from regular shop visits, he is busy adjusting to being a new dad for a second time. Back in October 2024, his wife, Marissa, gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. So, he and his wife have also been a little busy taking care of the little ones.

As for the other questions, he elaborated on his busy off-season. Earlier in the week, he was at the workshop, and a couple of days later, he was in Orlando, Florida. That was followed by a stopover at Texas for a couple of days before he hit the simulator again. Briscoe also spoke about his go-to Cook-Out meal, where he was fond of a spicy chicken sandwich tray with hush puppies or fries and a cheese quesadilla.

Another question was about his steering wheel preference. Apparently, he wasn’t particularly picky, but he did admit that it all depended on the type of track. Finally, Chase Briscoe admitted that he sometimes got stray thoughts while racing. Most of them were about his wife, where he wondered if she was watching him race.
Now that we know of his answers to other questions, let’s circle back to how he left the NASCAR fans baffled because he has never had a hotdog in life.

NASCAR fans were in disbelief about the Chase Briscoe confession
As one person on Instagram put it, “Wait so bro has been to Martinsville how many times and hasn’t even had a Martinsville dog? This needs to be put in his contract that next Martinsville visit he is duty bound to have one.” Think about it, though. The NASCAR pro has a contract that binds him to have a hotdog!
Another fan channeled their inner Black Panther and declared, “Get that man a hot dog now.” Others echoed the sentiment, “Someone get him a Hot Dog!” They could not believe that he had been racing in NASCAR for five years and had Martinsville multiple times, yet he had not sampled the local dish.

A fair few people were still reeling from the honest confession, “No hotdog ever is wild.” Some were not content to have him eat any old hot dog, so they got into specifics, “Martinsville hot dog.” Speaking of which, this hot dog is topped with onions, coleslaw, mustard, and chili. The food is practically a staple and has been sold at various vendor stalls for more than 50 years.
Apparently, Martinsville hot dogs are so famous that NASCAR commentators even let fans know if vendors run out of stock. According to some fans, these hotdogs have been sold the same way for decades. Secondly, the red color of the sausages allows them to stand out, and lastly, there is the price. Some reports suggest that the hot dogs are sold at around $1-$2, while other tracks that sell hotdogs sell at around $5 to $15. With that, what are your thoughts on this?
