It is noteworthy that his nine wins are the most wins for a Ford driver in the Xfinity Series. Admittedly, it does beg the question of whether Chase Briscoe is ready to play with the big boys in the Cup Series. Truthfully speaking, the SHR team has a tough choice between promoting him or leaving him in the Xfinity Series for another year.
Such a move has paid off for Stewart-Haas Racing, with Cole Custer being the proof of concept. Custer was recruited to take over the No. 41 Cup car after winning seven Xfinity races in 2019. Custer went on the repay the faith with a Cup Series win at Kentucky. In the process, he became their only other driver to rack up a race win this season along with Kevin Harvick.
