One thing edging on confirmation at this point is that Tony Stewart is halfway out the door. And for all we know, he might be selling off all the charters and moving on. Recently, Kevin Harvick gave a very telling statement that highlights the “missing owner” issue that SHR is caught up in.
Harvick who was replacing Kyle Larson of HMS at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, was asked about what stood out the most in Hendrick Motorsports. He didn’t hesitate once and said, “I mean, I heard from the owner twice in two weeks, so that’s different.” And if you piece two and two together with what happened next, the picture becomes all the more clear.
So recently on Reddit, fans were talking about how in the dark the SHR team was about their future, and guess who left a comment? Briscoe himself! He had replied under a comment that said “Have they checked this sub” to which he replied, “Multiple times a day boldly and unapologetically.” This cements the uncertainty prevailing, where their drivers have to go to forums to find out any news!
He has talked about the dire situation he is in with Bob Pockrass, motorsports journalist at Fox Sports. He said, “I am not really allowed to [talk to other teams] until somebody tells me what I can do — until they tell me if they’re picking me back up for next year or if there is a next year, nobody knows for next year.”
However, fans are levied, thinking about how an owner can behave this way. And through their comments on socials, they have just waged war against the SHR management.

A driver without a seat—no one wants a tag like this! Except SHR drivers have no idea about the future. The situation further fuelled the fans, who took over socials showcasing their support for the drivers.
One fan agreed with what Kevin Harvick said above and thought it was a clear message. He said, “All four of their drivers deserve better than this. Kevin Harvick’s remark about ‘seeing the owner twice in one week’ while filling in for Larson was very telling.” And we couldn’t agree more.
Earlier, Kevin Harvick hinted that a lot of guys are going to be without jobs. Given the current uncertainty, the missing owners, and with no answers to mum rumors, his statement may be true. A user even warned the SHR team, he said, “I think people know you need to be floating your resumes around and seeing what’s out there ’cause Tony and Gene are done with this sh*t.”

One NASCAR fan couldn’t believe that drivers had to check their employment status online. He said, “What an age we live in where a man can join the legions constantly checking the news for updates on his employment status.”
One user even saw Tony Stewart this weekend. She shared how Tony seemed disinterested and almost like he had no heart for the sport. She said, “Saw Tony at Rt66 this past weekend for NHRA, just going off his tone and comments when asked about the passes he was making, his heart and interest isn’t in Nascar any more. Dude is enjoying himself with NHRA and eventually his family life with Leah.”
