It is hard to see Stewart Haas Racing driver Chase Briscoe without a hat over his head. Well, it is because the driver likes to keep it that way as he’s been losing hair despite his young age. But, he’s dealing with a dilemma on how to deal with this issue, as he finds it awkward wearing the hat all the time, even in his own house.

Now, we have seen drivers making remarkable transformations after losing their hair. Joey Logano is the prime example of it, who was once in similar shoes as Chase Briscoe. Fortunately, modern-day cosmetics techniques came to his rescue, and since then he’s been able to flaunt his new look. While Briscoe has the option to go down a similar path, he is having second thoughts about it with another option on the table.

Although it is tough to find a recent photo of Briscoe without the hat, NASCAR managed to sneak one in and share it on social media. This is when the SHR driver first had the idea of following Joey Logano’s path or just shaving his head completely. Having made the playoffs, Jeff Gluck was interested in knowing about Briscoe’s next step and even tried influencing his decision to go bald just like him.

“Joey Logano, he’s turned his back on the balding community. Listen, there’s still a chance for you.” Gluck said this to Briscoe. To which the SHR driver replied, “I’m embracing it; I’m just trying to make it last a little bit longer. Like I would at least like to get to that, low 30s, I feel like. It’s going; we’ve all seen it right. Like, I don’t have much hope. My wife’s telling me to go the Joey route, but I think I’m going to embrace it eventually. My pride just won’t let me do it.”

Briscoe, while speaking on the Dirty Mo Media’s YouTube channel, also confessed about feeling stupid wearing the hat everywhere he goes. “I need to do it eventually because I look like an idiot every time I get out of the car and like it’s all the way back to hear already. It’s hard to be; we got to be one foot in, one foot out, but I’m trying to keep that one foot just staked in the ground over there.”

While this chat was good for a laugh or two, when it came to his objective regarding this season, Briscoe was pretty serious. So much so that he feels optimistic about his chances in the playoffs with the No. 14 team.

This is going to be the last year where we will see SHR cars competing in NASCAR races. It was all grim and dull ever since the team announced their departure, as they didn’t have much success on the racetrack. It looked like SHR was headed for a sad ending for all that they have given to the sport until Chase Briscoe clutched a race win at Darlington Raceway.

If somebody at the start of 2024 had said that one of the SHR drivers would make the playoffs, it would sound absurd. But, now that the tides have turned in their favor, Briscoe would like to make the most of it. “There’s just an energy right now that I have not seen in really the entire seven years I’ve been there. Yeah, I think that we could be legit contenders in this deal, and we have nothing to lose and have our backs up against the wall. And just the make-up of Stewart Haas Racing and coming from Tony and all that, that’s what makes us really dangerous these next 10 weeks,” Briscoe added.

It’s fair to say that Briscoe and the #14 team are like a loose cannon and could do some serious damage to genuine contenders. But, going by their regular season run, it is hard to imagine them deep into the playoffs.
