Chase Briscoe once deciphered his unwavering desire to don the crown of the Tulsa King one day. Be it winning the Tulsa Shootout or any race on the 1/4-mile track in Oklahoma, Briscoe’s been in hot pursuit since 2015 to carve his place among the kings of dirt track racing.
With the same enthusiasm, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver continued the tradition of participating in the Chili Bowl and looked forward to an outperforming display. Regardless, his 2024 Race of Champions had something else to offer as Briscoe suffered an unexpected setback at the behest of one of his own drivers.

The SHR driver’s way of competing at the Chili Bowl isn’t restricted to his attendance on the track. His Sprint Car series team, Chase Briscoe Racing, plays a crucial role in keeping Briscoe’s dominance on the dirt tracks at its pinnacle.
Having 2023 Chili Bowl champion Logan Seavey behind the wheel of the #39 car naturally makes it more probable for another victory in the bag, which is what happened. On one hand, Briscoe’s driver won the 2024 Chili Bowl Race of Champions, while on the other hand, Briscoe himself got robbed of the highly coveted title, which was his, until lap 12.
Chase led the 25-lap race since it commenced and held his dominance until the 12th lap. However, using his dirt racing prowess, Seavey took the inside line and drifted past Briscoe, snatching the lead and, eventually, his second Chili Bowl title in a row. Furthermore, Briscoe’s day concluded at a saddening P5.
Surely, Brisoce’s Chili Bowl outing was dismaying and joyous at the same time, but his dream isn’t completely shattered as he’s yet to showcase his skills at the invitation-only race.
Briscoe still has a handful of luck to live the Tulsa King dream

Notable drivers like Ricky Thornton Jr. for his back-to-back Golden Driller win, Logan Seavey for his 2023 Chili Bowl Nationals title, Spencer Bayston for his 2023 O’Reilly Auto Parts Invitational Race of Champions win, and many others got invited owing to their proven superiority on the dirt track. Nevertheless, it was Briscoe whose luck was on a high note.
Despite having no notable achievements on the dirt track, prosperity favored the SHR driver, as is evident from the Chili Bowl invitation he’s got, enabling him to give it another shot.
