A few days ago, the Stewart-Haas Racing team teased a major announcement. Since everything was kept under wraps, it was a guessing game to see what the fuss was about. There were rumors of a potential manufacturer return for the likes of Dodge. However, the beans have finally been spilled, and the big news is a new sponsor for Chase Briscoe.
As it turns out, the outfit is teaming up with Mahindra Tractors for Briscoe’s #14 Ford Mustang. To many, it was surprising to see a brand like Mahindra associated with NASCAR. However, it is worth mentioning that the Indian manufacturer has been involved in the motorsports scene for nearly a decade.
Their journey began in 2011 in the two-wheel category, courtesy the Moto3 class. Later on, in 2014, the brand joined Formula E for its inaugural season and has since been going strong. Now, it seems that Mahindra is slowly dipping a toe in the NASCAR arena. Of course, the brand is merely here as a sponsor, and entering as a team could be pretty farfetched.

Of course, the new sponsorship will be a welcome cash injection for the team. Mahindra Ag North America CEO Viren Popli said, “Chase Briscoe and Tony Stewart are relatable men of great character who have worked hard to get where they are today. Like our dealers, they have a tough work ethic and the drive to be successful. We are proud to have them representing the brand. In fact, Tony is already a Mahindra owner and has been putting his 5145 tractor to good use on his ranch in Indiana.”
Last year, Briscoe enjoyed a fairly average maiden season in the Cup Series. There were occasions where he was often in a good position to win but missed out in the end. The biggest chance came at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Sadly, he copped a penalty for punting off Denny Hamlin from the race lead.

Now, Briscoe will be aiming to set aside all the disappointments from 2021. He will be looking forward to 2022 and a new chance to fight at the top.
