Dale Earnhardt Jr‘s CARS Tours driver, Carson Kvapil makes a quantum leap to NASCAR’s second-tier division, the Xfinity Series. The 20-year-old will move up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports in 2024, the team announced today.
A product of JRM’s lauded Late Model organization, the young phenom will become the fifth driver from the program to make his NXS debut for NASCAR, joining the likes of Richard Boswell, Josh Berry, William Byron, and Sam Mayer.

zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car champion, Carson Kvapil will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at the famed Martinsville Speedway on April 6. The Late Model racing phenom will be piloting the #88 Chevy for JRM as he readies to tread with the best in the organization’s second-best division.

While the team is yet to confirm other details about the youngster’s Xfinity plans, he’ll be the first driver to be announced to the part-time #88 this year while Miguel Paludo and Dale Earnhardt Jr himself piloted the car in 2023.
The Mooresville native started his foray into NASCAR competition last season, making starts in the organization’s third-tier series, the Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series where he scored a career-best ARCA finish of second at Kansas Speedway.

Carson Kvapil made his series debut for Spire Motorsports, finishing 12th at Bristol Motor Speedway in the organization’s lower-tier series. The phenom is coming off a stellar championship campaign in Dale Jr’s Late-Model series program, CARS Tour. Riding the hype train to the world of Stock Car racing is Kvapil who has nine wins, 27 top-five finishes and 951 laps led in his combined 34 starts in the CARS Tour. Kvapil’s two titles gave JRM their fourth and fifth championships for the Late Model team, which dates back to 2004.

Delighted to make his Xfinity start, piloting Junior’s famed #88 Chevy, Kvapil said, “I’m really looking forward to making my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Martinsville.” Mentioning his father, Travis Kvapil, he added, “My dad made his NASCAR Cup Series debut there back in 2004, so it’s cool to make my first Xfinity start at the same track. I’ve run there in the Late Models for JR Motorsports and done well, and hopefully I’ll be able to use that experience to hit the ground running again with JRM in April.”
