Hendrick Motorsports are looking to explore their options in Elliott’s absence. The name that has come up in the talks is Corey LaJoie. While LaJoie will be looking for a chance at the #9 Camaro ZL1, Spire is summoning the Truck driver, Carson Hocevar. That implies Enjoy Illinois 300 will also be Hocevar’s Cup Series debut.

The 20-year-old youngster has admired and desired the #7 seat in the Cup Series. This is an example where preparation meets opportunity certainly. The fortunate occurrence has yet again divided the fandom as they are left questioning Hocevar’s intentions behind the tweet. While it may well be luck at play, the stage is set for LaJoie and Carson to take over. The suspension comes costlier, particularly after his tibia injury in the initial phase of the season. While LaJoie has had the highest finish of fourth this season, Hocevar continues to impress in the Craftsman Truck Series.

The wreck between Hamlin and Elliott has also taken a new turn. Hamlin has put forward claims that the bumps from Elliott were completely intentional. But from what any follower can take away from the event is that the suspension has come as a blessing for Hocevar.
