William Byron and his antics have been a hot topic in NASCAR lately. Well, first because he’s got not one, but two Harley J. Earl trophies! Byron won the Daytona 500 back-to-back (2024, 2025). Well, it was all thanks to the leaders, Denny Hamlin and Austin Cindric crashing out, but still, it’s made him the talk of the town. Then his burnout at the 500 became controversial, he was accused of deliberately hitting the wall to manipulate post-race inspections. And finally, the biggest of all…the curious case of Sabrina Carpenter.

It started with a fake William Byron account commenting a “Hi” on one of the popstar’s Instagram posts. Fans thought Byron was trying to steer something up with Carpenter. Well, he’s clarified it: “Nothing’s going on.” But now Carson Hocevar has taken inspiration from this to probably start his own love affair. And fans are going crazy about him trying to make the Byron-Carpenter case into a trend!

Will Carson Hocevar succeed with his ‘new flame’?

So by now, we know how a simple “Hi” not even sent by William Byron can be blown out of proportion. The NASCAR community had their hopes high to see probably the biggest love story in the sport’s history. But sadly, it’s not happening. Still, Byron, being Byron, tried to capitalize on the situation. He replied to the whole thing, saying, “Maybe we can get her out to a race; it would be great. Or I can get to a show.”

Well, who doesn’t want that to happen? But as of now, we don’t have an RSVP from Sabrina Carpenter! Meanwhile, Carson Hocevar thought…why not try this trick? He has recently commented, “Hi” on one of Madison Beer’s X posts. For the folks who don’t know Beer, she’s an American singer and songwriter and wildly popular on social media. So apparently, Hocevar’s following the exact same recipe (by choosing someone from the music industry).

And let’s not make the same mistake as we did in William Byron’s case. The parody account that commented on Carpenter’s post was so accurately made…it even fooled Byron. But we did several checks, and this account of Hocevar is the one and only! And fans are going bonkers on this. Especially because, like Byron, even Hocevar is all the rage right now in NASCAR.

After the recent Atlanta race, he’s got the unofficial title of NASCAR’s ‘new villain.’ Thanks to his nonchalant race craft at the track. He managed to make several drivers mad. Starting with bumping Kyle Busch in stage 1. To spinning Ryan Blaney. Then trading paint with Ross Chastain. Finally, on the last lap, hard bumping Christopher Bell to punch a hole. Well, the hole was punched, but he almost ended up wrecking Kyle Larson while taking P2.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Carson Hocevar the new villain NASCAR needs, or just another driver stirring the pot?

Have an interesting take?

And this may have angered the drivers, but he’s gained a lot of new fans. In fact, some are even playing wingman to the 2024 Rookie of the Year.

Carson Hocevar’s many wingmen

Since Hocevar has taken inspiration from Byron. One fan thinks even Hocevar needs to have a nickname for being slick. The fan wrote, “‘Baby-faced assassin’ has been taken, Carson.” This was the nickname Alex Bowman gave Byron after all this fiasco. So maybe for Hocevar, it can be, ‘Carrnaige Carson.’ For how he’s been driving lately and how he’s trying to slay everyone with his antics.

Anyway, this two-letter pickup line (Hi) might be slick, but Madison Beer is not single. Last we checked…she’s dating social media influencer Nick Austin. Still, NASCAR fans are undeterred with them hilariously helping Hocevar. One fan wrote, “Carson, thanks again for letting me borrow your yacht!” While this is still believable now that he’s in the Cup, the next one is a bit too much.

The fan wrote, “Carson, still don’t know how you fought off that mountain lion with your bare hands, but it was a lifesaver. Thanks again!”  echoing the same emotion another fan wrote, “Best Uber driver ever here. Guy got me to my destination 20 minutes early.” This could actually set him up perfectly, it’s driving-related, and the fan is basically calling him fast. Which he is. We saw it in the Atlanta race, he’s got the speed in that Spire Motorsports Chevy. So maybe he too can send an invitation to Beer to watch him race like Byron did with Carpenter.

And it seems like NASCAR fans are really impressed after Atlanta…these comments of hyping up Hocevar were endless. Amid everyone trying to portray Hocevar as this ruthless and strong guy, one fan wanted Beer to see his soft side. He wrote, “Thank you for your donations to the orphanage Carson”
