Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar and his primary sponsor, Gainbridge have put the NASCAR Day Giveathon in overtime with their donation of $77,000. This was the second annual Giveathon, allowing the NASCAR community to come forward and raise funds for the 350 participating charities.

After the end of the donation window, the NASCAR Foundation ended up with $484,000. However, Gainbridge and Hocevar wanted to extend the fundraising goal and came up with a surprise late donation. Moreover, Gainbridge has even claimed that if the Spire Motorsports driver wins the All-Star Open, they will chip in an extra $770K towards the NASCAR foundation.

The rookie driver is ineligible for direct entry into the main event at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Out of the 20 available entries, 17 have already been locked up by Cup stars. Two of the final spots will be determined by the All-Star Open race, and the final spot will be decided based on the fan votes.

Carson Hocevar will take the field for the event that precedes the heats and qualifying rounds. The drivers competing in the All-Star Open will have to run 100 laps, with a break on lap 50. Having already created quite a stir with his vote campaign video, the Spire Motorsports driver is now put into a hot seat by his primary sponsor, Gainbridge.

Taking to social media channels, they announced their Drive to $770,000 campaign, helping the NASCAR foundation reach its donation goal. Apart from donating $77,000 to kick-start the overtime for Giveathon, they also made a bet to shell out $770K if their driver, Hocevar, wins the All-Star Open race.

Appreciating the gesture by Gainbridge, Nichole Krieger, Vice President and Executive Director of The NASCAR Foundation, said, “This year’s NASCAR Day Giveathon showcased the power of our sport to help those who need it most.”
