With the NASCAR National Series concluding with a bang, fans are all in, eagerly awaiting Saturday’s late-model throwdown at Florence Raceway. And securing his place in the 250-lap race is NASCAR’s most popular veteran driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. The JR Motorsports co-owner made headlines for the South Carolina 400 as he attempted to take it all, trying his luck for the third time at Florence this year.

To make matters more interesting, the race will pit Dale Jr against his former driver and the CARS Tour’s winningest driver, Josh Berry, promising fans an epic showdown. But who will reign victorious? Can the Hall of Famer Trump over the late-model expert?

The 33-year-old Xfinity Series sensation shot to fame piloting the #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy across the line in the absence of Chase Elliott. Ever since that, Berry has been called in as the Chevy team’s super sub on a number of occasions, earning him the respect and reputation he deserved. Not only did this put him in the limelight, but his breakout performance at Richmond in the spring also got him a multi-year contract with Stewart-Haas Racing, roping him in as the replacement for the retiring Kevin Harvick.

But before Berry starts his driver duty at SHR, trying to make up for Harvick’s underwhelming farewell season in 2024, the driver will have to race against his former JRM boss, Dale Jr as both the drivers cross each other’s paths in Florence this Saturday. The driver made his Kevin Harvick Inc. debut, driving the #62 Ford across the line at Hickory Motor Speedway, and looks to have a decisive win over the veteran, having Rodney Childers in his corner.

While the Hall of Famer and his former driver gear up for the showdown, one question lingers in the minds of the racing community ie; can Berry trump over his boss?
