The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season is approaching and seats are slowly being filled up. Now, the Carl Long Motorsports team has revealed that they have a big announcement. Already, the outfit has confirmed veteran driver Boris Said on a part-time schedule. So the announcement could probably be about who will take over from Said in the other races.

Naturally, many fans speculated on what the announcement is, and who would be recruited. Several names were thrown into the ring, like Timmy Hill, Kyle Weatherman, and more. Hill’s inclusion could make a lot of sense because he is slated to test the MBM car at Daytona. So it is safe to say that Hill is attempting to compete in the 2022 Daytona 500.

Meanwhile, Weatherman is looking for a drive in NASCAR. This is because he recently parted ways with the Mike Harmon Racing team in the Xfinity Series. While we thank Kyle for his time in the 47 car, we want to wish Kyle all the best in his future endeavors. Naturally, this could open up an avenue for Weatherman to move up to the Cup Series. The 24-year-old made his Cup Series debut in 2017, with a handful of appearances for Rick Ware Racing and StarCom Racing. However, he has not raced in the Cup Series since 2019. On the other hand, Timmy Hill has a fair amount of Cup Series experience, especially with MBM Motorsports. In other words, he has a stronger bid for the seat.
