The good news keeps coming for the newest star on the NASCAR block, 19-year-old Hailie Deegan. On Saturday night, Deegan made her NASCAR Truck Series debut, and she was quite successful at that. Shortly after her first-ever NASCAR start, her team announced Deegan as a full-time Truck Series driver for 2021.
In the Truck race at Kansas Speedway, Deegan created history by recording the highest finish by a female driver in her Truck debut, with a 16th place outing. A shot at running an entire season next year means Deegan has a genuine shot at creating a bigger piece of history.
On the announcement, Deegan expressed her excitement at running the full Truck season in 2021. Ford and DGR-Crosley both invited Deegan on board. She finished third in the ARCA Menards Series this year, winning ‘Rookie of the Year’.
