There are only a handful of sponsors in NASCAR that can compete with the likes of Coca-Cola when it comes to their history in the sport, such as the popular M&M livery on Kyle Busch’s challengers throughout the years. However, this golden relationship, which began back in 2014, fizzled out by the end of 2022 as Mars made its exit from the sport.
While Kyle Busch had an immensely rewarding relationship with the colorful brand during his time at JGR, his new venture with Lucas Oil also holds great potential to create some iconic moments in Richard Childress Racing’s attire. Adding to the excitement, the long-time RCR partner has also announced their plans to expand their support for Kyle Busch and RCR in 2024!

Lucas Oil confirmed that it will serve as the primary sponsor for Kyle Busch and RCR for multiple races and will continue its role as ECR’s official motor oil provider for their engines. It will also serve as Kyle Busch’s primary sponsor at the grassroots level in the micro-sprint car series. Just as Kyle Busch’s old relationship with Mars and M&M’s created some jaw-dropping results, Lucas Oil has been no slouch.
Kyle Busy drove the No. 8 Lucas Oil Chevrolet to victory lane at the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. In only their first official outing together, Kyle Bush brought Lucas Oil home their first-ever victory in the NASCAR Cup Series! Brandon Bernstein, director of partnership marketing at Lucas Oil, shared that the team was elated to share Kyle Busch’s passion for short-track racing and extend their support to the icon.

According to a Motorsport.com report, he said, “We’re proud to continue to commit our resources to R&D and production and to highlight our premier oil performance with sponsorship of the No. 8 Chevrolet.” With the corporates backing Kyle Busch, nothing is standing in his way of elevating any brand associated with him. The president of RCR, Torrey Galida, also joined in to comment on the dynamic pair reminiscent of M&M’s and Joe Gibb Racing’s past.
Galida reflected on how RCR and ECR have greatly benefited from having a lubricant partner with roots in racing the way Lucas Oil does. He also reminisced about the first outing of Kyle Busch and Lucas Oil together. He added, “RCR and ECR have benefited greatly from having a lubricants partner with strong roots in racing. It was incredibly gratifying to see the No. 8 Lucas Oil Chevrolet on Victory Lane. It was a testament to all of the resources, expertise, and hard work the Lucas Oil/ECR team has committed to giving us a huge competitive advantage.”

Even though Kyle Busch parted ways with Mars after fifteen long years together back in 2022, the love he’s gained for the people behind the brand will never leave. He looked back and felt fortunate enough to have been able to create something so special with a brand like M&M’s, going as far as winning two championships with them. He felt proud of the work he had put in to bring the brand to the victory lane over 55 times in the Cup Series!
He was quoted by NBCSports as saying, “One of the great things I love about NASCAR is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. During this time, Mars Associates have been like family to myself, Samantha, and Brexton. In particular, my friendship with the Mars Family will be something that will last a lifetime. We have a relationship so much deeper than just having the honor of driving their colorful cars.”
