In the post-race interview, after winning the Gateway race, Kyle Busch expressed, “People change. People grow up,” and perhaps these words encapsulate Busch’s racing life as well. From being the ‘rowdiest’ on track and engaging in fist-fights to rising over all forms of controversies, the veteran driver has surely grown up.

As the time steadily ticks by, the time on track is slowly nearing its finality for Kyle Busch. Although he agrees that he plans to stay on the track as an active driver until his son takes over the racing torch, the driver is convinced of the fact that he wants to achieve the feat that no one has been able to accomplish in the 75 years of NASCAR. He charts out the possibilities in the pre-race interview in Pocono.

If one looks back at the accomplishments of the Richard Childress Racing driver, it will be evident that very few drivers in NASCAR have been able to achieve those feats, and also within a very short period of time. However, the hunger to achieve more is yet to subside for Busch, as he plans to conquer all the triple threats of NASCAR, an ambition that many drivers had forged but was deemed unsuccessful.

Busch has won titles both in the Cup Series and Xfinity Series, but it is the Truck Series title that Busch has been elusive and he hopes to conquer it before hanging his helmet once and for all.

This was evident in the pre-race interview in Pocono. He revealed to the media, “I mean, I kind of tried that back in the day in 2008, 2009, somewhere in there where run as many races as I possibly could. There were obviously some races where it gets expensive trying to fly back and forth and the only way to do that is private air travel obviously. Then all the rules all came about where you can’t run, all that.”

“But obviously, it’s kind of been an idea of mine you know, and not necessarily why KBM is still going but obviously we give back to the sport a lot by doing that, and all the drivers that have kind of come through there over the years. But, would like to continue to give back to me a little bit I guess, or take from it as I get closer to hanging it up and obviously turning it over to Brex,” Busch added.
