In 2020, Chase Elliott bagged his maiden Cup Series title. Now, he is set to gun for his second consecutive title. However, there are a number of other drivers who are eager to grab a title of their own or add to a previous title.

Out of the current grid, there are five drivers who have triumphed already. They are Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr, and Kevin Harvick. In other words, there are six drivers who can clinch their second Cup Series title.

The unpredictable nature of the playoffs may make things difficult, but there is no denying that there may be favorites. Admittedly, the momentum is with Chase Elliott as he timed his run to perfection. Meanwhile, Kevin Harvick dominated in the regular season, only to falter at a crucial stage in the playoffs.

Will Chase Elliott triumph over everyone else?

Without a doubt, all eyes will be on the big teams like Hendrick Motorsports, Penske, Joe Gibbs, and Stewart-Haas. Naturally, everyone in their rosters will be the favorites for championship contention. However, there will be a few wildcards who are keen to spoil the party next season.

New players like 23XI Racing and other such teams will be eager to make an impression. While a title challenge may be far-fetched, a couple of stray wins are not outside the realm of possibility. At the end of the day, Chase Elliott knows that he has a massive target painted on his back.

In other words, the pressure will be on him to prove that he is not a one-season wonder. However, the likes of Logano, Harvick, Keselowski, and others will be right there to try and stop him.

Additionally, there are drivers like Denny Hamlin who are championship material, but the title has always eluded him. Finally, there are drivers like Kyle Busch, who are multi-championship winners, who are seeking redemption.
