Even though he’s only been part of NASCAR racing since last year, his connection with the sport goes way back. Muniz had the privilege to drive the pace car in the 2001 Daytona race. The same race, where NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt lost his life. Muniz, before the race, got the opportunity to meet the man himself. Where Earnhardt Sr said that he was a fan of Muniz’s show. “I was 15 at the time, I was the hugest NASCAR fan. I was in awe that a hero of mine was saying he was a fan of mine,” Muniz had previously said. This probably fueled his NASCAR dream even further.
Other than the Nashville race, his team Reaume Brothers Racing, had announced that Muniz would be making three race starts this season. Nashville, Bristol, and Kansas. Fans post the Bristol race wondered about his absence. That is when Frankie Muniz cleared the air and made the announcement of his next races. Posting an adorable photo with his son, he took it to Instagram to share the news.
In the post, he wrote, “MORE RACES ADDED! I’m bummed to not be racing tonight in Bristol, but can’t wait to race next weekend in Kansas. I’m excited to announce that I will be racing in the @morecoredrilling @nuggettrapgold Ford F-150 at Homestead Miami on Oct. 26th! I will also be racing in the Season Finale truck race in Phoenix Nov.8th! @fordperformance @rbr_teams.”

It is commendable for the 38-year-old driver to start racing in a top league at such an advanced age. Especially with so many youngsters coming into the game. Although all his Truck and Xfinity races have ended in DNFs, it is not entirely his fault. Trying to get a good finish with a backmarker team is always challenging. Take a look at his teams so far: first, Rette Jones Racing in ARCA, then Joey Gase Motorsports in Xfinity, followed by Reaume Brothers Racing in the Truck Series. Despite not having the top equipment in his arsenal, Muniz is trying to compete against top teams. Maybe this is why fans are eager for his return.
