So close yet so far! Bubba Wallace impressed everyone with his solid display at Michigan International Speedway. But torrential rain forced the race to be canceled until the next day. The race could not shift itself to the next gear. This was when jet dryers continuously made rounds to clear out some moisture from the way. But it appeared as if the rain gods had planned something else for the day. The race did, however, resume for a short while. Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace put up an impressive display, with Larson taking the initial lead.

But it’s not as if the entire fan experience got washed away. In the short period, when the action caught some intensity, the cars did perform some tricks for the fans to remember and cherish. One such display, from Bubba Wallace, is getting all the attention and hype from everyone, including his wife- and evidentially so.

On Lap 36, the race was looking to get into some shape when an unprecedented incident occurred. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin locked horns to get to the final spot. Bubba Wallace of 23XI Racing announced his entry in an almost cinematic manner. As the two experienced giants went neck-to-neck, Bubba Wallace came from behind, ran beside both the cars, and sailed decisively past them. The move left fans and the entire racing community shocked. The effortlessness of Wallace’s driving amazed the eyewitnesses, and social media users agreed with them too.

But the biggest support and cheer Wallace received was from his wife, Amanda Wallace. Currently an expectant mother, Amanda, shared a video of the surreal takeover on her Instagram story. She was all in praise for her husband, and wrote a message posting the video that read, Gonna just sliiiiiide on in there. As if she already knew about her husband’s flabbergasting abilities.

The crowd gathered at Michigan International Speedway widely appreciated the move too. It became one of the few moments for the fans to cheer about. Apart from this impressive display, the Sunday afternoon was otherwise disappointing for the fans.

Amongst those watching live action was the NBA legend Michael Jordan. He is also the co-owner of Wallace’s team, 23XI Racing, alongside Denny Hamlin. The basketball legend was an eyewitness to Bubba Wallace’s abilities. He smiled and cheered the racer’s move as he drove past the other co-owner of his team. Additionally, Bubba Wallace’s wife also posted an adorable photo with the 30-year-old racer. If anything, the picture displayed the love and support she carries for her husband.

Despite having a sound working relationship off the tracks, this is not the first time that Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace tried to outperform each other with their driving skills.

Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace faced off each other at the Kansas Speedway in 2022. Hamlin had set his eyes on the top spot ever since the race started. His strategy was simple- win the race, and do everything in his power to get that spot. This is the reason why as the race progressed, Hamlin started hitting challenges from all angles. But Wallace’s car acquired the top spot that day. Hamlin’s relentless tackles fell short in front of Wallace’s technical abilities as he managed to secure a win against all odds.

As the race gets going again, a lot is at stake for racers like Bubba Wallace. A solid performance from him could inch him closer to a playoff spot. A loose end, however, can make matters worse and open the opportunity for other racers. Ty Gibbs, Austin Cindric, and Kyle Busch are some racers in contention alongside Wallace.
