After the NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta, one thing was crystal clear: a payback was coming Ross Chastain’s way. In fact, many paybacks could come his way, but one that will certainly come will be from Denny Hamlin.

Will NASCAR ask Denny Hamlin to not add more to the already messy situation?
This was something that Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft recently spoke about.
NASCAR are in no position to do anything about Denny Hamlin- Ross Chastain
In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Kraft took the example of what happened at Gateway to suggest why NASCAR won’t be in a position to say or do anything about what becomes of the current Denny Hamlin-Ross Chastain situation.
“NASCAR, they already showed they don’t have that kind of authority because they threatened Denny at Gateway, and then just let what was going on, continue all race long. The first time Ross passed Denny, obviously, Denny slowed him down, they were like, ‘Okay Denny, you made your point,'” Kraft said.

Kraft claimed that NASCAR didn’t do anything to Hamlin then, and if they did, perhaps, it was just a small talking to after the race. But the point is, there were no penalties then, so there can’t be any in the future either.
“You’ve already shown you’re not in a position to do anything,” he added.
