It’s officially the off-season in NASCAR. While the drivers have plenty of ways to stay busy, their crew, like spotters, don’t always have the same options. During the season, everyone on a NASCAR team is slammed with work, leaving little downtime. But once the season wraps, things slow down, and in the case of Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, that means having a little too much time on his hands—and getting on his wife’s nerves! Amid this, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made a revelation and Freddie Kraft is not buying it.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes a daring claim

Dale Earnhardt Jr. might not race full-time anymore, but he stays busy with his own projects. From his podcasts at Dirty Mo Media to managing JR Motorsports and overseeing the CARS Tour, Jr. is always juggling something. But surely in the off-season, it’s more relaxed, and he gets some time with his wife Amy Earnhardt, and his two daughters.

But when you are mostly out on the track, working, your family doesn’t see you as much as in the off-season. And with Dale Jr. being Dale Jr., it is hard to believe that he hasn’t already gotten on Amy’s nerves, her wishing for the season to start sooner. Well, at least this is what he claims!

The conversation started when Freddie Kraft posted on X about how his wife, Megan, had reached her limit during the off-season. He wrote, “We’ve officially reached the point in the offseason where Megan Kraft says, ‘Is there not somewhere you can go today?’”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Dale Jr. really the perfect husband, or is Amy just too polite to say otherwise?

Have an interesting take?

Dale Jr. found the whole thing hilarious and jumped in with a comment claiming that Amy had never said anything like that to him. He replied, “Amy never says that.” But Kraft wasn’t buying it, firing back with a GIF of Will Ferrel as ‘Ron Burgundy’ in ‘The Anchorman’, saying, “I don’t believe you.” Guess only Amy knows the truth there!

But meanwhile, Kraft is taking his wife’s advice and is going somewhere. He recently posted a photo from his car heading somewhere with the caption: “Happy wife, happy life.” And just to make sure everyone knew his car was ready for a long drive, he added, “Just for the record, the (expletive) forgot to reset my oil light last time. I’ve got 2400 miles to go.”

Dale Jr. chimed in once again, replying, “Not a problem if you know how to change your own oil.” Freddie Kraft used to work at a car service and repair shop for a long time so he definitely knows how to change his oil. However, the process is not something he is fond of, as he wrote, “Worked here for too many years. If I ever get a forearm covered in oil again it’ll be too soon. 😂” This post on X was accompanied by a picture of “Fastube” the repair shop he worked at.

And speaking of ‘happy wife happy life,’ Dale Jr. isn’t exactly on Amy’s good books, especially with Christmas around the corner.

Dale Jr. and his Christmas gifts

Recently, Amy appeared on the Dale Jr. Download podcast, where she shared the struggles of receiving gifts from her husband. The conversation kicked off when Jr. asked Amy what she wanted for Christmas, and she simply replied, “Jewelry.” But the real trouble starts when it’s time for Jr. to pick out a gift for her. She admits it’s his arch-nemesis because Dale Earnhardt Jr. is convinced he knows exactly what she wants.

Jr. explained his process for gift shopping: “So in the past, I myself will go and I will scour the web and I will find something that I like and I will get that for her and she will like it.” The problem? His assumption that she will like whatever he picks out doesn’t always go as planned. One year for Christmas, he bought her a charcuterie board. That’s it.

Amy didn’t hold back in her reaction, saying, “That comes back to paying attention. Like, I would never order that. Have you not seen what’s in the kitchen? Do I serve that [expletive] to you? No.” Ouch, Jr.! Looks like the Christmas gift might be the make-or-break moment for his status as a ‘good husband’ this year. And if things don’t go well, maybe Freddie Kraft has room in his car for him!
