Bubba Wallace’s Spotter Freddie Kraft & Brett Griffin Slam “D-Bag” for Playing “Victim” After William Byron NASCAR Feud in Darlington

Not many people in and out of the NASCAR community were appreciative of the late-race payback by Joey Logano on William Byron that led him to his first win of the season. While the Team Penske driver defended himself with an explanation, he was slammed pretty hard for his actions.

More recently, NASCAR spotters, Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft also expressed their disapproval of Logano wrecking Byron.

“The biggest thing to me is, (he) never made an attempt to pass him. Like if you work a guy over and listen, I’m all for ‘winning at all costs’. We’ve built this system around, ‘You’ve got to win a race. You’ve got to win a race to get into playoffs.’ He’s on a 40-race winless streak or something like that? ‘Win at all costs.’ But at least make some kind of attempt,” Kraft said in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast.

“This is what I’m the most spot-off on – Joey’s lame-ass excuse after the race of, ‘I will not be bullied. He ran me in the fence,'” Griffin said.

“If you’re gonna be racing like a d-bag, you gotta own it. Don’t play a victim on TV, like, ‘I had to pay him back, he was bullying me’. No. That’s not the way that played out at all.”

What was the excuse Joey Logano made after the race?

After the race. the Penske driver didn’t even take the diplomatic route of handling the situation. When confronted about his move on the Hendrick Motorsports driver, Logano simply said that’s just how business is in this line of work.

“You’re not gonna put me in the wall and not get anything back. That’s how it works,” he said.

At the end of the day, in Darlington, Joey Logano got his first win of the regular season and ended his unfortunate streak of being winless that had stretched to 40 races, something that for better or worse, came at the expense of the young William Byron.
