After a no-show in all the Next Gen tests after the 2021 season ended, Bubba Wallace finally put in some laps for 23XI Racing. A shoulder surgery and subsequent rehab right after the last race of the 2021 season meant the Talladega winner could only watch the action from the sidelines.
And after taking part in the recent Phoenix Next Gen tests, Wallace updated his fans on Twitter about his shoulder, and how he feels overall.
He wrote, “Felt great to get back in the car today! Shoulder felt great in the car and still feels great now. Good to get back in the swing of things with Bootie and the crew, lots of positive additions to the team in the off-season. Glad to be playing a small part of this team.”

This should encourage his fans and his team, as it was only Wallace’s teammate that was taking part in all the prior tests. Speaking of his new teammate, Kurt Busch recently described how he and Wallace can help each other in 2022.
“Let’s go and work together” Kurt Busch’s message to Bubba Wallace
The 2004 Cup champion was announced to be joining the 23XI Racing in the middle of last season.
And now that the next season is right around the corner, Busch shared a message to his new teammate. “I want him to admit what he’s weak at, and I’ll admit what I’m weak at, and let’s go and work together,” Busch said.

“I mean, I’m not the oracle or anything, but I feel like I can help him. And I know I can learn things from him because that’s how I think I’ve stayed relevant for 22 years is continuing to learn and being adaptive to the situations.”

He now has a competitive team, a top-of-the-line crew, and an experienced teammate, all of which should ideally help him in taking the next step in his career.
