Race car drivers are also athletes. And just like any high-performance athlete, they also need to stick to a diet and training routine. Similarly, Bubba Wallace also has a strict diet before he heads into a race. But the driver has a big ‘weakness’ that he has spoken about.

In a recent interview with Muscle and Fitness, Wallace talked about the food he eats before the race and even the night before the race. He said, “Before I race, I’ll usually have some grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, asparagus, or some broccoli. Usually, the night before or the day of. I try to keep it light and somewhat healthy leading up to a race.”

Although, he has a big weakness that interferes with his diet. And it’s the flakey and cheesy goodness we call Goldfish crackers, “I’ll usually throw a couple of Goldfish in there every once in a while.”

He further confesses the extent of his weakness as he says, “Goldfish are definitely my weakness. I’ve actually gone a few days without them because we don’t have any in the house right now, so I need to stop at the grocery store on the way home and get myself a couple of big boxes of them. I get the biggest size they have, and I’ll go through one in about a week. When that box is out, it’s on to the next one.”

Then comes the race, which is surely quite grueling for the drivers. So what does the 23XI Racing driver do to recover?

Well, the ‘Big Secret’ is really just “lots of hydration and sleep.”

Although, Wallace did reveal that he struggles a lot with his back getting locked up from sitting in the car for that long. But, he is working in the gym to get that area stronger!
