Actions speak louder than words; Bubba Wallace is living the meaning of these words at the moment. He is on his comeback journey as he finished 10th in Pocono and followed it up with the 5th spot at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. If such position jumps continue, we might soon see the #23 Toyota on the podium in Richmond.

However, before Richmond, he’s already bettered his position. No! not in the Cup Series. But by going back to his roots, racing in the U.S. Legends Pro Division. He took to Instagram to boast about his finish and to silence his haters.

Bubba, before finally racing in the Cup series in 2020, embarked on a long journey starting from legends car racing. He started racing when he was only 9 years old. He learned the craft of racing in Legend Cars and Bandoleros at Summer Shootout. Those early wins at the local level fueled his talent. Finally paving the way for two victories in NASCAR’s premier series with 23XI Racing. In Legend Racing, Wallace dominated the competition, racking up an impressive 13 wins across various divisions.

The reason why Bubba probably still competes in Legend races is to be connected to his roots. After a 5 year long break, Bubba returned to Legend racing in June at the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

No matter, he continues to race there and recently secured a P2, riding his wave of comeback since Pocono. Some may argue how is Legend Race and Cup series comparable. It’s not about comparing, but just the momentum that he’s got, especially after getting a #5 finish in the Brickyard 400. He’s struggled to get wins since last year. However, these good finishes are small wins in his larger journey. The #23 is constantly slammed for his poor performance by fans of the sport. In a reply to his haters, he took to X to show his Legends race trophy. Taunting them with sarcasm, Bubba wrote, “bUbBa cAnT wIn a rAcE.” Well sh*t you might be right💀 P2 at tonight’s legend car race✌🏾🤓”

Let’s hope the #23 Toyota driver continues on this high even when the series resumes in Richmond. The X post invited mixed reactions from fans and critics alike.

Some fans root for him while some just don’t!

Bubba Wallace’s journey in the race to playoffs has been nothing short of dramatic. His voyage has been on an upward trajectory since the Nashville Super Speedway, where he finished 7th, then 13th in Richmond, moving to 10th in Pocono. However, P5 isn’t Bubba’s best this season. It was at the NASCAR All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro where he finished 2nd. He also won a stage in Brickyard giving himself the much-needed points for playoffs. His well-wishers want his trajectory to lead to a win. One of his fans wrote, “You’ve been improving a lot though in Cup 👀 A win is on the horizon 😎”

The legend cars are different from the Cup series ones. They are small and compact. Bubba Wallace is known to be a big guy, probably, one of the biggest in the Cup series. Mocking his bulky stature, a fan wrote, “How hell do you even get in a damn legends car? 😂😂”

In the photo that he posted on X, he was seen wearing a Scott McLaughlin shirt. The #3 is a 3-time supercars champion and currently drives in IndyCar for Team Penske. A fan made the connection between the two when she wrote, “GOAT IN A GOAT SHIRT”

The fans kept taking jibes at Bubba and his 2nd place trophy. One of them mocked him for celebrating a mere second-place finish. The fan wrote, “Dudes posting 2nd place trophies 🏆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”

Another one remembered his aggressive incident with Alex Bowman after the Chicago race and said that the only way Bubba could win P2 was if there were only two racers. The comment read, “And ya probably doored someone to even finish there. Or was there only 2 cars to begin with?”
