During Stage 2 of the NASCAR Cup Series race in Phoenix, 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace ranted on the radio to his spotter. “I’m trying to stay f*****g calm. But I’m f*****g over it, f*****g terrible,” Wallace said.
So in the recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, this subject came up and Freddie Kraft, Wallace’s spotter, was asked what the deal was with his driver’s anger.
"I am trying to stay f***ing calm, but I am f***ing over it. … F***ing terrible."

And Kraft simply explained that it wasn’t their day. In fact, he went on to say that it wasn’t a day for anyone driving a Toyota.
“You could’ve probably heard this if you scanned anybody with a Toyota emblem on the front of their car,” Kraft said. “To be honest, none of the Toyotas ran very well…I looked up at one point in the middle of the race and the highest running Toyota was 14th or 15th.”
He added, “It was just a frustrating day yesterday. We made mistakes that just kinda compounded mistakes and ruined our day.”
“We’ll get back and be better for the next one, I’m sure.”

Freddie Kraft spoke about the pit stop in the race, after which Wallace lost over double the track positions.
“Bubba had slid into the box one time and got us too close to the left side wall so we couldn’t get the car jacked up properly, ended up going from 15th all the way back to 30th,” he said.
“And on that run, the longer green run was the run where the leaders got around the back of the pack and we were still trapped back there.”

Kraft described how in that situation, a lap down, and leaders catching up to them, they were “trapped.”
“We lost a lap there and that kinda just set in motion, the rest of our race, we were kinda trapped a lap down,” he said.
