Midway through the race, chaos ensued on the front stretch. Erik Jones’s wheel suddenly detached, leading to a spin that caught almost every car in his wake. In the aftermath of the race, a NASCAR journalist noted that Bubba Wallace had seemingly advanced a few spots due to not slowing down. Catching wind of this tweet, Wallace didn’t hesitate to respond. He swiftly took to social media, delivering a sharp retort that effectively quelled the reporter’s attempt to challenge him.

Earlier, journalist Kelly Crandall provided an explanation regarding the ‘Big One’ at Darlington Raceway. She conveyed that NASCAR had decided the positions of cars 4, 6, and 9 based on the previous loop, as they believed these drivers had maintained a reasonable speed at the caution.

According to her, NASCAR didn’t consider these drivers as part of the wreck. She further shared that, in NASCAR’s view, cars 21 and 23 had gained positions as they hadn’t slowed down.

Soon enough, Wallace slammed the reporter and said, “Bahahahaaha. We gained positions BECAUSE WE MISSED the wreck.. lmao this is comical.”

Irrespective of the drama surrounding the race, Wallace managed to secure a top-five finish.

Despite on-track hurdles, Wallace rounded off the race with a commendable performance at Darlington Raceway in the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday afternoon. Starting from the outside of the front row, he demonstrated his prowess, enduring an eventful final stage to secure a top-five finish.

Throughout much of the race, Wallace showcased a competitive spirit, consistently placing within the top five to ten. Moreover, his fellow Toyota teammate, Martin Truex Jr., began the race from the pole position and led for an impressive 145 of the 295 laps. However, a collision towards the end of stage two caused significant handling damage to his Camry.
