Recently, 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace made an appearance on Corey LaJoie’s Stacking Pennies podcast. In the buildup to the race at Watkins Glen, he spoke about his chances of winning a race.

When asked where he hopes to win next, he said, “Hopefully Daytona.”
“Daytona is probably our best opportunity. But with the speed we’ve had, Man! Kansas coming up. We were lights out fast at Kansas.”
“Just couldn’t get off pit road there, so I’m excited for that.”
“There’s a lot of opportunities for me, especially if we keep this speed and the momentum that we’ve had. We should visit it a couple of times at least.”

Can Bubba Wallace win at Daytona and steal a Playoff spot?
Truthfully speaking, everything depends on how well the NASCAR Cup race at Watkins Glen pans out. If he is unlucky, another new driver could win at Watkins Glen and snatch the final transfer spot from his grasp. On the other hand, Bubba Wallace could have a shot if he either scores a shock win at The Glen, or a previous winner triumphs.

In the event that a previous winner triumphs, it means that Wallace has to win at Daytona. On the positive side of things, he did finish 2nd at the Daytona 500, so a win may not be so far-fetched. Last time out at Richmond Raceway, his Top 10 streak got snapped when he finished 13th.
Obviously, for him to stand a chance of winning at either race, Bubba Wallace has to qualify first. In any motorsport, qualifying well is half the battle won, and a decent qualifying gives him a better shot at winning.
