23XI racing driver, Bubba Wallace, is gearing up to give his best fight at the Daytona International Speedway. However, the NASCAR driver’s four runner-up finishes are something that does not trouble him anymore.
Finishing second in the last two races, Wallace is all set to ace the 2022 Cup Series. However, in a pre-race event for NASCAR’s Daytona race, he revealed his thoughts about his past performances and his mindset going ahead. Wallace now believes that it’s all about giving it your best. Realizing that it’s best not to get ahead of himself, Bubba Wallace felt that focusing on the race is what really matters.

Wallace also said that maybe five years ago, he may have thought, “Man, we deserve a win here.” However, after working for five years, he feels he doesn’t deserve anything. Instead he said, “Now, it’s like you don’t deserve anything. Let’s go out and earn it. No matter if you finish second, how many times we’ve done it, we can still blow up or we could still break something.”
Wallace has been great on-track even though he has not registered a win yet. Earning four of his top ten finishes in the last two months, Wallace’s past finishing positions do not define his future. Continuing about what his experience has taught him, he said, “You don’t know. And so for us it’s just (important) to not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s focus on what we need to do.”
Bubba Wallace believes that the best strategy going in now is to ensure that he is there for the last two laps. He further said that it’s best for him to set himself up for being one of the first four cars. Adding to his recent realisations, he said, “That’s what we need to focus on. Let’s get up that point.”
